Your Wedding Day is too precious to be entrusted to the amateur or the inexperienced. Professional videographers are dedicated to capturing the planned events, as well as the spontaneous moments that are unique to every wedding. Wedding Videography demands a superior sensitivity and an attention to detail. As video professionals, we know how to document your day, we anticipate important moments before they happen and we capture the emotion of your day in a discreet and unobtrusive manner. On your special day, only the bride and groom should be sharing the spotlight.

You have only one chance to be sure your wedding day is professionally captured. Just one chance to be sure all of the emotions, the love and laughter are preserved for you to share repeatedly. Today professional videographers have become as natural as part of the wedding as the photographer.

How do I choose a Videographer?

Video styles and quality can vary tremendously even within the same community. In order to make an informed decision about the distinguishing differences, and be sure that your videographer can match your preferences, it is best to see actual samples of work produced by the videographer who will be recording your event. When you stop by to see samples, you will also have an ideal opportunity to discuss your wedding details and style preferences before making your final decision.

Because couples are all different, no one style of video is suitable. We will customize your wedding DVD to reflect your individual taste and personality. When you book a videographer or photographer, keep in mind that you will be spending one of the most memorable and important days of your life with this person. Be sure that they are not demanding or annoying personalities. Look for good people who will not get in the way.

Why should we have our wedding filmed?

Your final wedding DVD will become an exquisite that you will enjoy for the rest of your life. After the wedding or event, most couples tell us that having a professionally made wedding video was the best decision they made for their wedding. When you think about it, there really is no better way to re-live the special moments of stating your wedding vows. There is nothing like a professionally made DVD to capture all the sights and sounds of your wedding day. The wedding day is a blur. It is so nice to sit back and watch your wedding unfold when you are not the center of everyone’s attention.

How do I book your services?

We suggest that you book as soon as possiblewe sometimes take bookings 1 year in advance. The first step would be to sign a contract. After you sign the contract, return it to us along with a 20% deposit to secure your day.

Once we book your services, what happens before the wedding?

We will send you our Wedding Videography Planning Sheet six to eight weeks before the wedding for you to fill out. This planning sheet helps us to ensure that your wedding day runs smoothly, and that we provide the most comprehensive coverage of your wedding as possible. The planning sheet goes over details such as a timeline of the day, emergency contact numbers for the day of the wedding, locations, church rules and regulations for Videography, and many other details regarding your wedding day.

As always, feel free to contact us anytime you have a question, a change, or anything else you may need to clarify. If you choose to do a photo slide show, we will contact you about 3 months before your wedding date to get started on that: collecting pictures, music, conduct the interviews, etc. Otherwise, we will contact you about one and half months before your wedding date to set up a meeting where we will go over an outline of your day and tentatively plan how things will be covered. We will contact you again about one week before the wedding to confirm details and schedules, and to answer any questions you may have.

Where do I start when choosing your packages?

The major difference between our packages is the number of cameras, the amount of editing, and some of the extra features we offer. All of our packages come standard with ceremony and reception coverage, original artwork, menus and chapters on the DVD’s and wireless microphones to perfectly capture your wedding vows.

How long will it take to finish our wedding DVD?

The typical project takes about 4-6 weeks to complete. However, depending on the package you have selected there are several pieces of information that we need from you in order to complete your project. This information gathered in advance with our “customer questionnaire”, but in certain circumstances, the information we need is not available until after your event. Although we will begin and complete as much work as possible on your project immediately after your event, we often require a few weeks after receiving the final pieces of information from you.

When are the payments due?

How you make payments is up to you, as long as the entire amount is paid in full 30 days prior to the due date.

How long does it take before we receive our edited DVDs?

It varies depending on the time of year but normally they can take anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 weeksto produce your wedding and event video. The original video will be in digital format to preserve video and audio quality. There are times during the heavy video season where our turnaround time may take longer than 6 weeks. We will advise you of this case. If it takes longer than 10 weeks to produce your video, we will refund 10% of your package price.

How long will our final, edited DVDs be?

There is no set length of time for how long they will be. Generally, the entire video will never run over 2 hours, but it depends on your wedding. . It is not uncommon to have a wedding video take two DVDs.We avoid cutting anything out of the ceremony, and we edit the reception to the most entertaining parts. We usually condense the pre-ceremony and post-ceremony into entertaining montages that act as segues between the major parts of the video

Is the raw video of the wedding available for us?

If you want the raw video, we can provide that to you at no additional charge. We do have you sign a form acknowledging that this is the only copy of the raw video that exists.

How would you describe your style?

Our edited wedding videos are well-elegant, professional documentations of your wedding day. Our videographers are professionally trained, with an emphasis on fine art production. Although we set production standards very high, your wedding video will not look like a feature film. For that, you need a large crew and a film set! However, you can see from past work and our samples that we are proud of our videos, and yours will look absolutely amazing.

We will view your wedding video as a document of an event, and we realize that it is a very special event. We keep this in mind from our shooting style to our editing style. We will not ask you to pose for the video cameras, or to do anything that is not natural. When we edit, we keep things as natural as possible, without using any low-grade special effects.

Why do we need a second camera during the ceremony?

We always recommend a second camera for several reasons:

  1. Because it is so important to have a very steady shot, our cameras are set-up on tripods during the ceremony. This does allow very much immovability. To insure a good angle while you are exchanging vows, walking down the aisle and leaving the ceremony and for guest speakers, it is necessary to have the second camera.
  2. Having a 2nd angle allows us to edit both angles into your final edited version. This gives you a much more dynamic and visually interesting video.
  3. Many ceremony sites have restrictions as to where the videographers may place their cameras. In some instances, this is not always the ideal location. In these situations, having the 2nd angle gives us more flexibility to get the best shots and, during editing, allows us to choose between the two angles so there is almost always a clear shot of the two of you.
What if a videographer gets ill and cannot attend the wedding?

We promise to keep the appointment within all reasonable bounds, but unfortunately, unforeseen problems can happen. In the unlikely event of an illness or emergency, we always have an extra videographer on call just in case. Fortunately, it rarely does.

Do you bring back up equipment?

At Ink Waves, we tirelessly maintain our equipment, so we are extremely confident in our gear. However, if anything were to happen to any equipment at a shoot, we always bring an additional camera and accessories.

Can I request changes?

With every package, you can request changes equivalent to one hour of editing time. After the first hour, we will charge you our hourly rate. However, people rarely request changes.

Do you put music in our wedding video?

We will use music for the various segue as well as montages that you request. However, the music needs to be provided by you before the wedding in CD format. Our Planning Sheets will clearly go over the materials you will need for your package.

What kind of DVD will I receive?

Your DVD will have custom menus and chapters on it. It will also have original artwork. It will be the popular DVD-R form, which runs on just about all DVD players. If you Go Blu-Ray, your DVD will be delivered on a Blu-Ray disc.

Can we sit in on the editing or arrange changes after I receive my DVD?

As we work to a strict work schedule throughout the year that ensures all our couples receive their wedding DVD within the stated time. Trying to arrange a suitable time for each couple to sit in on the edit would not be feasible. We also cannot provide a preview DVD for the same reason as above. The time taken by sending out a preview DVD, storing all the information on our computers, couples watching it, changing something, sending it back, making changes to the edit, creating another DVD and having that approved again is simply not possible. To offer the above service would mean that we would not be able to keep to our competitive price structure. Even companies that charge a lot more do not offer this service. If you do wish to have an input into your final edit this can be arranged, but only during our less busy periods of January & February for an additional charge. You also need to allow yourself at least three working days with us.

Can I choose my own music for my wedding and event video?

Our editing staff has years of experience at hitting the music just right but we are open to suggestions or requests that you may have for the opening or closing video montage, photo montage or cocktail hour montage. However, we request that you send us this music PRIOR to your wedding or no later than 2 weeks after your wedding. Any delays could slow down when your final video will be completed.

Can I purchase extra copies?

You can buy extra copies at anytime. Review your contract to determine the duplication cost that applies to you. Your DVD will master and archived for later use. We can duplicate from that master at anytime.

Can I copy my DVD?

We understand that you paid good money for that DVD. We have placed no copy protection on our DVD’s and therefore copying is at your discretion. However, in order to receive your custom DVD box and graphics on your disc, you will have to purchase a copy from us.

How do I add information to my online contract?
